WELCOME BACK!
We hope you had a great summer and we look forward to another year with our César Chávez community. We hit the ground running. There are some great things happening in September. And as always, a huge thank you goes to the teachers, staff and to all of you who continue to make César Chávez a welcoming place where everyone belongs.
EVENTS TO HIGHLIGHT
August 31 + September 14th: Come and Paint! 10:00am-4:00pm
The Safe Routes Co-ordinators asked you what to do with the grant received last year and you answered! We are going to paint the school parking lot with designs created by César Chávez students. Special guest helping with the festivities is famous muralist Rodolfo Serna. Lunch, Snack, and prizes provided.
September 4th: 8:15am-9:15am Parent/Caregiver workshop: “Getting to know you”. Get to know the staff and administrators and their roles in the school. Breakfast and coffee provided.
September 4th: 5:30pm-7:00pm
First PTA General Meeting of the year! Meet new people, learn more about our community and about how you can get involved (as little or as much as you like!-Because everything counts!). Dinner and childcare provided.
September 11th: 8:15am-9:15am Parent/Caregiver workshop: Navigating PPS Resources. Learn about programs and services available to students and your rights as a parent/caregiver. Breakfast and coffee provided.
September 18th: 8:15am-9:15am Parent/Caregiver workshop: “Community Resources” We will have information booths from different organizations that support Chávez families.
September 25th: 8:15am-9:15am Parent/Caregiver workshop: “Community Resources”
Come to both “Community Resource” workshops to hear from all the organizations.

SAVE THE DATE
September 20th: Bake Sale after school.
