I am the mother of a 2nd grader in the Dual Immersion program at César Chávez School. I joined the PTA to feel more involved in our community and to figure out ways to volunteer. As a Board Member I am always asking where are we succeeding and where can we do more for our children, our parents, or teachers and staff. It is important to celebrate our communities as well as lend real support for our most underserved. It is incredibly important for our PTA to look through the lens of equity and question all that we do through this frame. Through my involvement in the PTA I am more informed about what is happening not only in our school but in our current public school system. And truth be told, we have a lot of fun too! I am so glad to be a part of this community. Through our plural identities we continue to connect and learn from each other.
I am a dance artist and am always trying to think up ways to bring more dance to our school and am currently in my last year of training to becoming an Alexander teacher, which is a type of body therapy.
