Volunteer

There are lots of opportunities to volunteer with the PTA and support our school.

We use SignUp Genius to register volunteers for various events and happenings. Below are a list of current opportunities:

  1. Sign up to volunteer for Walk+Roll to School - First Wednesday each month starting September 3rd at 8:15AM.

  2. Teachers and staff request your support with crosswalk duty in the morning during school drop off and the afternoon at dismissal. Sign up sheet

  3. Staff are requesting support for supervising lunch and recess throughout the year. Pass a simple background check and sign up to provide your support as you are able. Sign up sheet

    Lunch/Recess supervision is needed at the following times everyday:

    Kinder: 

    Recess: 11:10am - 11:30am

    Lunch: 11:30am - 11:50am

    1st & 2nd grade:

    Lunch: 11:10am - 11:30am

    Recess: 11:30am - 11:50am

    3rd, 4th, & 5th:

    Lunch: 11:50am - 12:10pm

    Recess: 12:10pm - 12:30pm

    Middle School:

    Lunch/Recess: 12:26pm-1pm

  4. The PTA Clothing center needs volunteers!

    Each PPS school is responsible for sending volunteers two times during the school year to assist students in receiving clothing and shoes.

    Monday, Sept. 15th is Cesar Chavez's day to send 5-6 volunteers from 9:30am -1:30pm, to help kids receive clothing and to help sort donations so there are lots of choices for kids to see. Volunteers can be parents, grandparents or community members. 

    We are excited to be able to have families come to shop for their students. Last school year, we assisted around 1,500 PPS Students! This is only possible with the help of our wonderful volunteers.

    The clothing center is located at the Marshall Campus; 3905 SE 91st, Room B-60. 

    Volunteers will check in at the Clothing Center: enter through the double orange doors with glass, left of the main entrance, by handicap parking that is near our area. You will see our PTA Clothing Center sign outside when we are open.

    There will be another opportunity to volunteer on Monday, Dec. 1st

NOTE: If you are volunteering during the school day, you’ll also need to apply to be a volunteer through PPS so you can complete their background check process. In general, it’s just a good idea to do this since your approval is good for a period of 3 years.
