  4. President’s Report/New business – Veronica Arenas Marshall discussed the below topics:
    1. Successful Schools Survey  – please take the survey! https://surveys.panoramaed.com/portlandor/ppsfamily23/surveys
    2. Budget/Calendar Ideas – We talked about possible ideas for the calendar and budget for next year. We want to ask our kids and their friends what they’d like to see more of! Also discussed the new craft night event on Friday 2/10/23. Destiny suggested we start a Google Doc to share with the community to see what people would like to see. Keiona will reach out to student council, Black Student Union, and Queer Straight Alliance and to any other groups at the school to see what kids would like us to do at the school next school year.
  1. Treasurer’s Report Blake Goud presented the report.
  2. Committee Updates
    1. Transportation and Safety – Blake Goud gave updates – He wants to do a bike and walk to school event in early March. This year it was all volunteer run. Next year we will have more support from Community Cycling Center with their employees to support our bike/walk days. We talked about making this a monthly event. Discussed having it on the third Wednesday of each month, the next one will most likely happen March 15th.  Reach out to Blake at treasurer@cesarchavezpta.org if you want to get involved.
    2. Keiona R Connor – Community updates:
      1. Teen Force: https://www.portland.gov/parks/teenforce/teenforce-pass – For kids ages 10-20 there is a free pass to access teen events at the Community Centers. There are many events they offer, including tutoring.
      2. North Portland Aquatic Center: https://www.portland.gov/parks/construction/north-portland-aquatic-center-project : At Charles Jordan there are community events getting community input for the pool that will go in in 5-7 years. Next meeting about the pool: April 4th at 5:30pm. Location has not been determined yet. Keiona has a lot of information about this: reach out to her at keiona@cesarchavezpta.org. North Portland residents have free access to Matt Dishman – you have to sign up for a pass at Dishman.
      3. Access Pass/Partner Organization – If you are in PP&R target audience (low income, people of color, elders, underserved communities) you can receive an ongoing discount of up to 90% for PP&R classes. You can also register a week early if you are a part of a partner organization, Cesar Chavez PTA is a partner organization and you don’t have to be a member of the PTA to participate, you just have to say you are associated with Cesar Chavez PTA. The PTA also has scholarships for our membership.
      4. Summer camps – Girls Build: For girls age 8-15, it is a week long camp, they have sites in Portland. The camp: girls learn how to build things with tools. Their early registration is available right now. Early registration is open now for girls in foster care or girls of color. You need a code and a name for the registration. Email Keiona at keiona@cesarchavezpta.org for more information.
    3. Auction – Blake said his wife Lindsay has offered to co-chair the auction with Destiny. Destiny is going to follow up with the committee via email. If anyone has anything they can offer to the auction, they can reach out to Leah at secretary@cesarchavezpta.org. Tricia suggested we send out a Remind asking for donations. Blake offered an hour of financial advising. Leah suggested we need to reach out to the staff to ask about donating their time.
    4. Outdoor improvement committee – Leah updated that we had one meeting in September but have not made any progress on grant writing for outdoor improvements. Several PTA members want to talk about ways to potentially use the past funds to improve the outdoor space possibly not on a covered area – as the estimate for that is around $250,000.
