PTA General meeting minutes 12/02/2020

Call to order & attendance	5:35pm
Reading & approval of September minutes Betsy made motion to approve, Daniel seconded. Approved unanimously.	5:35 – 5:40pm
New business VOTE again for Betsy Bridges (Member At-Large) and standing rules to clarify Keiona explained how our unit was dissolved, why we need to vote again Daniel moves to approve standing rules and Member At-Large as written, Besty seconded. Unanimously agreed. Appeal for Treasurer volunteer Keiona made appeal for Treasurer, reiterated need for the position to be filled for us to stay a PTA. Q: Amy Gilkey. Get message out to larger community. What happens if it doesnt get filled? Facebook, online, teachers to spread message. Unsure what happens legally. Keiona raised the concept of turning into a foundation. Veronica brought up dissolution, removal of funds to Chavez Foundation. Daniel asked if we could have an interim Treasurer before we vote. Can we use to buy time until a full vote? Yes, per standing rules. Blake: I’m not an expert, but I think most 501(c)(3) have to distribute funds when they dissolve to similarly tax advantaged organizations with some qualification like similar mission. Membership renewals Everyone is current	5:40 – 6:30pm
