What does it mean to join the César Chávez PTA?
You become a member of our school’s PTA, and you automatically also become a member of the Oregon PTA and the National PTA. Cost is $10 per year. If you cannot afford the $10 membership fee, we can provide you with a membership at no cost, just reach out to a PTA board member at secretary@cesarchavezpta.org.
What do I have to do if I become a member?
Nothing. You don’t have to do anything. You don’t need to attend meetings, you don’t have to volunteer. Being a member shows the state and national PTA that our school has families that care about all of our children. The more members we have the stronger our voice at the state and national level. PTA is a member based non-profit organization.
There are opportunities available if you’d like to get involved: attend a meeting (first Wednesday of most months), join a committee, become a board member, or volunteer at events.
What does César Chávez PTA do?
The PTA works to support all Chávez students, teachers and staff. We give teachers grant money every year to improve their classrooms. We organize events for students and families (Harvest Festival and STEAM nights). We raise funds for school improvements. We advocate for Chávez! PTA board members attend state wide trainings and yearly conventions to advocate for our students.
